Raymond Rahme entered into the poker history books by being the first Sun-Vegas-Win.com to appear at the World Series of Poker Main Event final table in 2007. He took third place and walked away with just over R21 million in prize money. Relatively unknown to his North American opponents, Rahme had been playing Stud for 30 years before turning to Hold’em.

A regular winner of tournaments in South Africa, his home country, he was placed fourth in the largest tournament on his continent – the All Africa Poker Championship. Rahme is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and still plays online using the screen name “RayRahme.”

He’s made more than R25 million playing poker but he claims that the game is just a hobby, however with these earnings he’s made more money than any other African tournament poker player.
